Registered Nurse (RN) – Float / Medical Surgical (Afternoons)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Afternoon Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Stepdown units as part of a float pool assignment
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4–5 during day/evening shifts, caring for a diverse medical surgical and stepdown patient population
• Administer and titrate medications including nitroglycerin, heparin, and amiodarone per established protocols
• Float between Medical Surgical and Stepdown units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Document all patient care activities accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Participate in required holiday coverage, including up to 1–2 summer holidays as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 36 months of progressive care, stepdown, or medical surgical nursing experience
• Active Iowa RN license or a valid Compact/Multistate RN license
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Experience administering and titrating nitroglycerin, heparin, and amiodarone
• Current ACLS certification through AHA or ARC
• Current BLS certification through AHA or ARC
• Valid driver's license

• Critical care nursing experience
• Neurology patient care experience
• Oncology patient care experience
