Public Health Nurse II

This position is responsible for working in all Women's Health Clinics which include Family Planning, Maternal Health and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program. This person will also rotate into the General Clinic administering childhood and adult vaccines as required by NC law. Other General Clinic duties include assessment and treatment of head lice, administration of tuberculin skin tests and assessment of Family Planning patients returning for birth control supply. Other health department programs in which the employee might be involved include: Influenza vaccine and other outreach clinics, STI clinics with additional training. Documentation of care will be done in Patagonia EMR. During public health emergencies or natural disasters, this employee will be called upon to work extended hours if shelters are opened. Required Minimum Training: Graduation from a two-year college with a Degree in Nursing. Individual must have a current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Additional Training/Experience: Additional formal training in public health will be provided as well as other venues available to ensure extensive knowledge is gained to adhere to policies and procedures in case management and safety of all Richmond County citizens. If the nurse does not possess a BSN they will have to take the North Carolina Credentialed Public Health Nurse Course within the first year. Salary based upon education and experience.
