The Barista is responsible for creating an amazing experience by interacting with guests and preparing and serving tea, coffee, and espresso drinks. Duties and Responsibilities Embodies a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service with a smile. Greets, acknowledges, and takes guests’ drink and food orders within 30 seconds of entry. Operates coffee‑making equipment, including dismantling and cleaning machinery. Prepares and presents beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards. Accurately totals, processes, and collects payments via point‑of‑sale system. Handles money, processes credit and debit cards, makes change while complying with cash handling and loss prevention SOPs. Provides knowledgeable and enthusiastic service regarding menu and products. Ensures guest satisfaction and resolves any issues with managerial assistance if needed. Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. Assists with new team member training and reinforces successful performance. Supports other areas such as seating customers, answering telephones, stock work, cleanup, and documentation. Maintains a clean, organized work environment free of safety hazards. Asks correct SMG related questions for positive comments. Complies with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including food safety. Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, Certifications High School diploma or GED required. Food and beverage experience preferred. Customer service focused and solution oriented. Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment. Ability to work in a high‑energy and demanding environment. Knowledge of math for cost calculation, cash handling. Effective communication skills; ability to work independently and with team members. Ability to work unsupervised for long periods, demonstrating good judgment with customers and peers. ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred. Position Qualifications Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team‑oriented environment. Excellent customer service skills and effective communication in English. Strong self‑motivation, leadership, and organizational skills. Positive interpersonal skills and self‑starter capable of prioritizing multiple tasks. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations. Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics in English. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and perform essential tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing a ladder, and walking long distances.
