LVN Position

Location: Lubbock, TX 79415 Facility: SSLC (Approximate start date Typically the 1st/15th of each month) Length: minimum of 6 months (w/possibility to extend) Shift: 8hr, 40hrs/week, must be flexible w/weekends Needs: 4 LVNs: AM, PM LVN

LVN Pay rate:

Local: $35/hr. With housing: up to $30/hr. (subject to hotel availability and pricing)

Travel: $14/hr taxable + $1000/wk. non taxable) / 14/25

** Must be 50 miles away from permanent residence to qualify for housing allowance**

LVN JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Provides complex vocational nursing work.
• Work involves providing for the care, treatment, and general welfare of patients.
• May supervise the work of others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs Nursing duties within the assigned areas and assigned shift.
• Performs basic and complex nursing tasks to fulfill the health needs of the most medically fragile individuals, including the collection of lab work and other health screenings.
• Keeps informed of and follows all agency, facility and unit policies and procedures.
• Assists the RN Supervisor with on-the-job Nursing instruction and training of other new LVN's.
• Assists the Infection Control nurse by implementing measures that prevent the spread of disease, assists the QA Nurse in developing and implementing quality assurance programs, and assists in the implementation of therapeutic nursing programs.
• Competent in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.

Requirements:

• Current Resume
• Active TX LVN license / Compact license accepted
• Current BLS/CPR
• Preferably 2+ years as a direct care nurse
• 2 current supervisor references
• Physical (within 12 months)
• TB skin test (within 12 months)
• Vaccinations: MMR/Hep B/Varicella or titers
• Must be able to pass background/urine drug screening
• Must be able to pass FBI fingerprint background check (to be done by the facility)
• Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC, community clinics, public health, etc.
