Senior Consultant - Product Control / IFRS Accounting

Russell Tobin is hiring for a Senior Consultant – Product Control / IFRS Accounting (Hybrid | New York, NY) We’re seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support a large-scale IFRS lending accounting transformation initiative within an investment banking environment. This role blends accounting, product control, and project management . $125/hour 12-month contract with strong potential to convert (temp-to-perm) This role will support the transition and alignment of lending accounting practices from US GAAP to IFRS , while helping drive automation and process improvements across reporting frameworks. Gather and document business + accounting requirements across Product Control, LEC, and Accounting Policy Analyze IFRS vs. US GAAP treatment for lending products (valuation, reporting, disclosures) Translate accounting rules into business requirements and functional specs Partner with Technology teams to design and implement automated solutions Support UAT, issue resolution, and business sign-off 2. Project Management & Governance Prepare senior leadership materials (status updates, risks, milestones) Document accounting decisions, rationale, and materiality assessments Track progress and ensure alignment with regulatory/reporting deadlines What You’ll Help Achieve Build a scalable IFRS lending accounting framework Reduce manual processes through automation and standardization Improve consistency across entities and reporting structures Support regulatory and financial reporting commitments 5–10 years of experience (minimum 5 required) Background in Loans / Lending Products as a Product Controller Accounting experience in Investment Banking strongly preferred Strong project management, communication, and writing skills Strong understanding of financial instruments and lending products Experience working across Accounting, Finance, and Technology teams Ability to translate complex accounting concepts into business solutions Detail-oriented with strong stakeholder management skills Interested in learning more?
