Overview Ksplice is a leading technology that allows administrators to patch the kernel on the fly with zero downtime and zero disruption. It is part of Oracle’s Linux and Virtualization group and powers some of the company’s biggest systems, from massive databases to cloud services. We are looking for a systems engineer to help patch more of the system, support new releases, and improve our workflow. Responsibilities Skilled with software development best practices including TDD Expert level C/C++ programming Understanding of security issues and defenses in compiled languages Strong experience with Python Experience developing the Linux/UNIX kernel Excellent problem solving and debugging skills Test automation Qualifications U.S. based or U.S. customer or client‑facing roles must comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates and/or drug testing requirements. Compensation and Benefits US: Hiring range $114,600 – $234,600 per year, with potential for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
