Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48-hour weekly options available

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity specialty care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including stable heart and lung transplant recipients, ventricular assist device (VAD) patients, and ECMO patients in a 20-bed unit
• Manage and administer IV drips as required across all assigned floors
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs, including potential assignment to other units and a secondary campus
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, and paramedics/swoop staff
• Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting required
• Experience administering IV drips required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (considered in lieu of first-time traveler restriction)
