Job Summary The Production Supervisor is a first‑line supervisor responsible for safety, product quality, cost control, and production scheduling. The role motivates shop employees, implements company policies, and maintains shift operation logs. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Report to the site General Manager and manage direct and indirect reports. Monitor employee performance to ensure compliance with all safety policies. Implement and assign work schedules to maximize utilisation of manpower, machines, and equipment. Define expected production standards and monitor performance standards of assigned personnel. Observe personnel to ensure proper operation of assigned work and equipment. Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance occur to produce high‑quality products and report equipment issues immediately. Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages operational improvement suggestions. Administer and support company policies and procedures fairly and consistently. Train new employees in divisional and organizational activities and safety policies. Prepare daily timesheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime, and downtime reports. Other Important Details About the Role Applicants must possess deep knowledge of equipment and processes, strong planning and coordination skills, and leadership capable of motivating subordinates to meet high quality and productivity standards. The role requires timely reaction to change, sound decision‑making, and foster harmonious relations within and between shifts. Responsibilities also include accurate record‑keeping, cost control, and communication with supervisory and management personnel. Extensive computer use is required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 7+ years, or 9+ years of relevant experience. Five (5) years of manufacturing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong leadership skills supporting divisional business objectives. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Problem‑solving skills and positive coworker communication. Presentation skills for one‑on‑one and audience settings. Ability to calculate pay changes, proportions, percentages, and product dimensions. Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Three years in a supervisory position. Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands‑on experience in Lean Manufacturing.
