Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Management:

  Identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.

• Sourcing & Negotiation:

  Researching and sourcing new products and suppliers, and negotiating favorable terms on quality, price, and delivery schedules.

• Purchase Order Processing:

  Creating, issuing, and tracking purchase orders, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise with deliveries.

• Bidding & Contracting:

  Preparing bid packages, receiving and analyzing competitive bids, and recommending awards.

• Record Keeping & Reporting:

  Maintaining accurate and updated purchasing records, including pricing and order status, and preparing necessary reports.

• Needs Analysis:

  Conferring with internal departments to understand their needs and ensuring that purchased items meet specifications and budgetary requirements.

• Inventory Support:

  Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries to meet operational needs.

• Compliance:

  Ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with established company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Analytical Skills: To analyze past buying trends, sales records, and market data to determine best value.

• Negotiation Skills: To secure the best possible terms from suppliers.

• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: To effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and build strong rapport with suppliers.

• Attention to Detail: To maintain accurate records and ensure the precision of purchase orders and invoices.

• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of automated purchasing systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

• Problem-Solving Skills: To identify and resolve complex procurement issues efficiently.
