What You Will Do As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will: Support through all phases of design including: bid and proposal, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, qualification testing, new product introduction, and production implementation. Successfully execute on design/project tasks required to develop and qualify aircraft ejection seats by ensuring technical scope integrity and budget/schedule accuracy Utilize SolidWorks/UG/NX CAD software and facilitate the drafting department to produce standard, quality, and industry producible models/drawings Work as part of a cohesive team with test engineering, product engineering, system engineering, and program management Support program through technical writing presentations and reports for customer approval Support Program Management with any preparation of bids and proposals Support Systems Engineering on requirements analysis and the requirement compliance plan Qualifications You Must Have Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree inMechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. Experience with 3D computer aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, NX, UG (Unigraphics) and/or Catia Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects. Qualifications We Prefer Previous experience or coursework with machining, sheet metal, composites, and fabric design Analytical skills including experience with physics, dynamics, and statics. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
