FitRec - Beaman Trainer I

All Federal Work-Study students should read the program rules and regulations located at Primary Duties and Responsibilities Beaman Trainer 1 is a transitional position for Jumpstart Trainers who have completed their in‑house certification but have not yet attained a national certification. Beaman Trainer 1 provides members of the Belmont community with personal training and wellness education services. Duties Include Safely and effectively take training clients through workouts using proper form and spotting techniques; Facilitate wellness education programming for members of the Belmont community; Maintain accurate training records, including but not limited to client session notes and training logs; Educate clients on the proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment; Develop a positive relationship between the trainer and the client; Attend reunions, CEUs, trainings and other developmental programs; Other duties assigned The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee’s vision must be adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move loads of 20‑50 pounds. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses. Required Qualifications Excellent oral communication skills with co‑workers, supervisors, patrons and guests; Excellent customer interaction skills with co‑workers, supervisors, patrons and guests; Ability to work outside conventional work hours (e.g. weekends, late nights and some holidays); Strong organizational skills; Must have a basic knowledge of fitness programming including proper form, client interaction, and exercise prescription Required Education Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University. Required Experience Completion of in‑house certification course and Beaman Basics package. Belmont University is a Christ-centered community.
