QA Lead (Remote)

Are you a hands-on QA professional who enjoys improving processes, mentoring others, and making a real impact? We're looking for a QA Lead to help shape the future of quality assurance within a growing software organization.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll spend approximately 70% of your time testing and 30% coaching, mentoring, and driving QA improvements. You'll work closely with Engineering and Product teams while helping build a scalable QA function—including introducing automation over time.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform hands-on manual testing for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Lead QA efforts across multiple applications, ensuring high-quality releases.
• Mentor and develop a QA Engineer by teaching best practices and improving testing methodologies.
• Evaluate the impact of changes across interconnected systems—not just individual applications.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.
• Improve QA processes, documentation, and release quality.
• Help define and implement a long-term automation strategy. While the environment is currently focused on manual testing, you'll have the opportunity to introduce automation as the team evolves.
• Work with existing UI testing tools (currently Mabl) while evaluating additional technologies that fit the organization's future needs.

What We're Looking For

• Several years of software QA experience with a strong background in manual testing.
• Experience mentoring teammates, training others, or leading QA initiatives—even if you haven't held an official Lead or Manager title.
• Ability to think strategically about testing across multiple systems and applications.
• Experience creating or improving QA processes and standards.
• Interest in building and implementing test automation.
• Familiarity with tools like Mabl or other UI testing platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust, influence change, and improve processes without disrupting what's already working.
