Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials (appropriate to California requirements)
• Experience teaching in moderate - severe SDC settings preferred
• Background working in middle school environments is a plus
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes, behavior management, and differentiated instruction
• Collaborative spirit to work alongside paraprofessionals, support staff, and related service providers
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students in a self-contained classroom
• Conduct assessments, develop, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster a supportive, safe, and structured learning atmosphere tailored to diverse student needs
• Collaborate with other educators and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
• Provide classroom supervision and guidance for paraprofessional aides
