Assistant Director, System Research Compliance

Assistant Director, System Research Compliance Location: Dallas, Texas | Type: Staff Responsibilities Manage overall operations and continuous development of institutional research compliance programming, ensuring alignment with evolving federal regulations, institutional policies and current guidelines. Provide operational leadership and direct coordination for comprehensive protocol reviews. Direct administrative and procedural integrity of operations, including accurate documentation of meetings and timely follow‑up activities to maintain compliance and reduce administrative burden. Develop, maintain, and regularly review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related business practices to align with evolving federal guidelines. Disseminate biosafety knowledge and best practices through presentations, publications, and outreach materials. Ensure investigations and responses to incidents are appropriately investigated, thoroughly documented, and promptly reported. Implement corrective and preventive actions identified from incident investigations and program audits, contributing to continuous improvement and enhanced effectiveness of compliance practices. Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and institutional events to promote a strong safety culture. Advise leadership and research teams on personnel and other resource needs, and on financial implications related to compliance and infrastructure improvements. Streamline compliance workflows by managing administrative processes, including developing and reviewing program business practices, SOPs, and forms to reduce internal administrative burden. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Clear and effective communication skills to ensure understanding. Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. Other Requirements Security‑sensitive position; restricted to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents only. Security clearance requires complete criminal history investigation and credential verification per institutional procedures.
