Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location:  State College

Schedule: Monday-Friday

ABOUT IPM

IPM is headquartered in York, Pennsylvania and provides full-service property management for single-family homes, multi-family communities, and HOAs across Central Pennsylvania, including York, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Reading, Lebanon, Hershey, Enola, Carlisle, Chambersburg, Greencastle, Dillsburg, Hanover, Gettysburg, and Waynesboro, as well as Hagerstown, North East, and Baltimore, Maryland. With over 75 years of combined team experience and 500+ units under management, IPM handles everything from tenant screening and rent collection to maintenance coordination and financial reporting, so residents get a home they're proud of and owners get real peace of mind.

Our culture is key for our growth

We hold ourselves to a high standard, we take care of our people, and we give back to the communities we work in, from volunteering at local events to supporting causes our own employees care about. On the property management side, that mentality shows up in how our maintenance and leasing teams treat residents: not as tenants passing through, but as neighbors we want to keep happy.

We're looking for amazing people to join our team (more specifically, a MULTIFAMILY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN). The role is based in York, Pennsylvania.

Here's where you come in

You are hands-on at heart and genuinely enjoy fixing things. Most of all, you like the variety of a day that could involve plumbing before lunch and drywall after it, and you take pride in leaving a unit or a common area better than you found it. You're a problem solver who can troubleshoot independently, you communicate clearly with residents and property managers alike, and you don't mind the occasional after-hours call when something needs your attention.

What you should know about our team

Our maintenance techs work closely with Property Managers, Regional Property Managers, and outside vendors to keep every community running smoothly. We rely on each other constantly: when a work order comes in, we want it handled quickly and communicated clearly, and when a vendor is on site, we expect our team to make sure the work meets our standard. We value people who show up reliably, take ownership of their properties, and treat residents with the same respect we'd want for our own homes.

What you should know about IPM

Think owner's advocate, not just maintenance crew. Every repair, inspection, and turnover you complete directly protects an owner's investment and shapes whether a resident renews their lease. We have an entrepreneurial, get-it-done mentality that carries through everything we do at IPM. We're willing to build better systems, get ahead of preventative maintenance instead of chasing emergencies, and hold ourselves to a higher standard if it means safer, better-kept communities for our residents.

Overall Purpose

The Multifamily Maintenance Technician exists to keep our communities safe, clean, and functional for the people who live there. This role is the backbone of day-to-day property operations, from emergency repairs to unit turnovers to preventative maintenance, and plays a direct role in resident satisfaction, retention, and the long-term value of every property IPM manages.
