Senior Data Scientist

The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing complex and large datasets to develop predictive models and actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. This role involves leveraging advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and data visualization tools to support data-driven solutions and business performance improvements. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and proficiency in managing both spatial and non-spatial data across diverse platforms. Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex data sets to generate predictive models and insights that inform business strategies.
• Utilize statistical methods, machine learning, and programming languages to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
• Initiate, research, develop, and manage new information studies and innovative statistical models for data analysis.
• Conduct initial analyses to understand data characteristics and identify potential patterns or trends.
• Identify business problems addressable through data analysis and relevant data sources to mine for client needs.
• Develop data-driven solutions to improve business performance and decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into business strategies.
• Manage and analyze both spatial and non-spatial datasets to support planning, compliance, reporting, and decision-making activities.
• Support data migration, digitization, modernization, and information management initiatives through data quality assessments.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams.
• Communicate complex analytical findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning, and data modeling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of data analytics including relational databases, geospatial analysis, spatial data management, and data visualization.
• Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, ArcGIS, or equivalent platforms.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
• Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Knowledge of information management, data governance, metadata management, master data management, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Experience working with large, structured, semi-structured, unstructured, historical, and legacy datasets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with code version control systems such as GIT and database management systems.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to analyze, integrate, and interpret spatial and non-spatial data to support business and regulatory objectives.

• Advanced degree in social science, statistics, or related field.
• Certifications such as Data Science Professional Certificate (IBM) or Google Data Engineer certification.
• Familiarity with emerging information and information technology trends and technologies.
• Experience with geospatial analysis techniques and business intelligence solutions.
• Ability to apply innovative analytical approaches and industry best practices to complex business challenges.

• Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams in a complex project environment.

• Work schedule includes adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
• Potential contract extension beyond October 5, 2027, subject to agreement terms.
