About the Position

Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Pediatrics / NICU

Location

Charleston, SC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services in a pediatric and/or NICU Level IV setting within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
• Deliver age-appropriate respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patient populations
• Participate in holiday rotation and every-other-weekend scheduling as required
• Float within scope of practice to meet unit needs based on experience level
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November) as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification through NBRC
• South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license must be active and in hand at time of start
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience; NICU Level IV experience required (Pediatric ICU experience may be considered)
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health records system
• Background in both NICU and Pediatric ICU environments
• Familiarity with high-acuity, teaching hospital workflows
