We live by four core values: Be Dependable, Be Valuable, Be Thoughtful, and Make a Difference.Position SummaryThe Field Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains John Deere construction, forestry, and industrial equipment at customer job sites using a company-provided service truck. This position serves as a front-line representative of Beard Equipment, delivering safe, professional, and responsive service while operating independently in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems at customer locations.Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and emergency service repairs in the field.Operate and maintain a company service truck in accordance with company policies, driving safety standards, and all applicable traffic laws.Complete work orders, service reports, and repair documentation accurately and timely.Communicate repair findings, maintenance recommendations, and equipment concerns with customers and managers.Maintain service truck inventory, tools, equipment, and vehicle inspections.Serve as a professional representative of Beard Equipment while working at customer job sites.Follow all safety procedures, including job site safety requirements, vehicle safety practices, and company policies.Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and manufacturer training programs.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the field and service vehicle.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Experience repairing heavy equipment, diesel engines, construction equipment, or related machinery preferred.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and mechanical skills.Basic computer and diagnostic software knowledge.Valid driver's license required with an acceptable driving record.Current DOT Medical Card required or ability to obtain one.Ability to safely operate a service truck and travel regularly to customer job sites.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Why Join Beard?Competitive pay and benefitsPaid training and career advancement opportunitiesCompany-provided service truck and specialized equipmentIndustry-leading John Deere equipmentA company culture built on teamwork, integrity, and service excellenceBuild your future with Beard Equipment and help keep our customers running strong wherever the job takes them. Beard Sr. as a John Deere Construction and Forestry dealer. The first dealership was located in Pensacola, Florida. Operations grew to include Panama City in 1972, Mobile, Alabama in 1982, Freeport in 2004, Jacksonville, Lake City and Palatka in 2011, Tallahassee and Perry in 2014, and Ocala in 2015. Mr. Beard believed in taking care of customers and having agreements based on handshakes. He felt that the two most important company assets are the relationship with our customers and having high quality employees. The company continues to operate with these values at the core of our philosophy.
