Teacher Assistant

The Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in delivering effective instruction and maintaining a positive, organized classroom environment. This role involves assisting with the supervision and management of students, as well as providing instructional and administrative support to meet daily classroom needs. Key responsibilities include preparing materials (copying, laminating, and organizing activities), supporting student learning through reading and tutoring, assisting with grading assignments, and helping prepare projects and classroom resources. The Teacher Assistant plays an essential role in promoting student engagement and ensuring smooth classroom operations.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• Prior experience in Child Care required.
• At least 1 year experienced preferred working with children in an education or day care setting.
• Basic Computer literacy Current CPR Certification
• State of Florida and National (FBI) background check clearance, including VECHS fingerprinting.
• Be a faithful, practicing member of the seventh-day Adventist Church whose life, habits, and influence are positive in leading students to Christ.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
• Assisting in the planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed material and supplies.
• Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
• Maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the school.
• Assisting teachers with non-teaching tasks, including grading papers, recording grades, making copies, getting supplies, and preparing projects.
• Supervising students in classroom and on playground.
• Interacting and managing student's behavior in a positive manner.
• Maintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school. Helping with the operations of audio/visual aids.
• Runs errands.
• Helps with individual students with their work as directed by the teacher.
• Performs any other related work as required.
