Yard Jockey

Our client, logistics and warehouse operations team is seeking a Yard Jockey to join their team. As a Yard Jockey, you will be part of the warehouse and dock operations group supporting day-to-day yard flow and safe container movement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment-skills that will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Yard Jockey/Receiving clerk

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Pay Range: 19$

Shift: 8 hrs within the hours of 7am-6pm

What's the Job?

• Reposition loaded and unloaded containers between the docks and yard to ensure there is no traffic back up in the yard.

• Ensure all trailers placed in the dock are properly locked.

• Perform yard checks as needed for trailer inventory.

• Register arriving drivers into the "Visitors Log".

• Operate a forklift as needed, and help load/unload containers and carry boxes up to 50 lbs.

What's Needed?

• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.

• Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well as part of a team.

• Previous warehouse experience preferred, including prior experience jockeying containers (minimum 53 feet) and forklift experience (certification preferred), plus a valid Driver's License.
