Position Summary

The Facility and Shop Machinist produces, repairs, and modifies precision parts and tooling. This role supports facility maintenance and shop operations by troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Machining: Operate manual machines and CNC lathes to fabricate precision parts, fixtures, and tooling from blueprints.
• Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic repairs on facility equipment.
• Shop Support: Maintain shop safety and cleanliness while managing tooling inventory and documenting repairs.
• Collaboration: Partner with production and maintenance teams on continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

Experience: 3+ years of manual machining experience; CNC lathes and manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.

Skills: Ability to read blueprints, use micrometers/calipers, and perform basic welding. Familiar with manual machines and tooling associated with them.

Schedule, Physical & Work Environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment with exposure to some noise, oils, and coolants.

Work hours could be scheduled for up to 10 hours a day
