Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Observation - Day Shift

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Observation Unit FT Day Shift Location: Wilmington, DE Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (per department guidelines). Weekend & holidays are scheduled as required. Unit Information The 3 Medical Observation Unit (3MOU) is an 8‑bed unit dedicated to the care of adult medical patients admitted under observation status. Common diagnoses include ruling out stroke, syncope, and chest pain – conditions that require evaluation and testing beyond the Emergency Department. The unit operates in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with high patient turnover. The average length of stay typically falls between 12–32 hours. Patients who require inpatient care are transitioned from 3MOU to the appropriate inpatient unit. Team members work in 3MOU also have the opportunity to cross‑train on 3 West, the 9‑bed cardiac care unit focused on short‑stay patients with primary cardiac diagnoses. Qualifications Valid DE RN license or Compact RN license. BSN preferred or a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of hire. Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience; acute or sub‑acute care experience is preferred. Bronchial Life Support (BLS) certification required. Hourly Pay Range $41.28 – $66.05 per hour (ChristianaCare’s good faith estimate; final rate depends on skills, experience, and qualifications).
