Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting Consultant (Senior or Manager)

Our client, a technology and manufacturing company, is seeking a Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting Consultant to support its Finance and Operations teams during a period of growth. 

The position is primarily on-site, 4 days per week in Sunnyvale, CA. This engagement has a duration of 3 months. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform inventory reconciliations and prepare related journal entries
• Analyze inventory activity, cost variances, and cost of goods sold trends
• Ensure accurate inventory classification and costing methodologies
• Support accounting for freight, allocations, and other inventory-related costs
• Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and asset tracking
• Maintain fixed asset records and support capitalization activities
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams to improve processes and maintain data accuracy
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, inventory-intensive, or product-based environment
• Strong experience with fixed assets and inventory accounting
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial close processes
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
