FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME)

Position Details Full‑time FOOD UNIT LEAD positions are hiring immediately. Location : Appleton Area School District – 531 North Morrison Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Note: online applications accepted only. Schedule : Full‑time, 32–35 hours per week. Days and hours may vary by location. Requirement : Prior food‑service experience is required. Perks : No nights, holidays, or weekends; summers off. Fixed Pay Rate : $16.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus available. Job Summary Summary: Coordinates the activities of other food‑service employees and creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides quality customer service with one‑on‑one attention to detail. Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control. Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises the serving of meals. Responds to customer complaints in person or via email. Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Uses proper systems for completion of required daily, weekly and monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll and time‑keeping. Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual. Orders food and supplies from approved sources or purveyors. Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develops sanitation schedule and ensures employees adhere to cleaning schedules for kitchen and dining area. Issues written and oral instructions. Assists with hiring and orientation of employees; oversees staff training in areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
