Role Description The Elementary Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Lexington, SC. This position is responsible for planning and delivering differentiated instruction to elementary students with a range of disabilities, using evidence-based special education practices. Daily responsibilities include providing direction instruction through the use of SRA, adapting curriculum and classroom materials, and monitoring student progress through ongoing assessment and documentation. The teacher collaborates support staff, the leadership team and families to create inclusive learning environments and consistent support strategies. The role also involves managing classroom behavior, fostering social-emotional development, participating in school-wide initiatives, and attending meetings, professional development sessions, and fundraisers.
Qualifications
· Experience working with students with Disabilities and knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and accommodations.
· Strong Teaching skills in elementary education, including lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
· Background in Special Education, with the ability to use specialized instructional strategies.
· Effective Communication skills, including clear, respectful interaction with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
· Ability to collaborate with Middle School and other grade-level staff as needed to support transitions and continuity of services.
· A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
· Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education, cultural responsiveness, and creating a safe, supportive classroom environment.
· Strong organizational skills, reliability, and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
Salary Range: Salary depends on years of experience, certification and level of education. There are no health benefits offered at this time but we do offer supplemental benefits, retirement, and paid time off.
