Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float Pool

Location

Charleston, SC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 hours/week | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of a Medical Surgical Float Pool, rotating across multiple med-surg units within the main hospital and a secondary tower
• Adapt to varying patient ratios depending on the unit assigned during each shift
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching, and Magnet-designated facility
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in holiday rotation schedule as required by the facility
• During hurricane season (June–November), be prepared to support emergency response team assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start date)
• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with or ability to learn EPIC charting system
• Ability to float between multiple med-surg units as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with high-acuity med-surg patient populations in a large academic or teaching hospital setting
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
