Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a 4-room Operating Room
• Ambulatory OR and general OR setting handling Ortho, Gyn, Urology, General, Cataracts, Pain injections, ENT, and OB cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Approximately 5-10 surgical patients per day
• No scheduled weekend shifts, but call rotation includes every 3rd weekend
• When on weekend call, traveler will only work 1-2 weekdays that week
• Call hours vary and rotate through the week when not on weekend call
• May be low censused up to one full shift (8 hours) within a two-week period

Requirements

• Active RN license, IA or compact license required in-hand
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 3 years preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• CNOR certification preferred
• Circulating experience required
• Ambulatory OR and general OR experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with ENT, Endo, GYN, podiatry, and Ortho procedures preferred
• At least 2 professional references within 3 years of start date required
• Required certifications must be obtained prior to start date

Additional Information

• Perform circulating duties across a variety of surgical specialties including Gynecology, Orthopedic, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, and Ophthalmology procedures
• Skilled in professional practices such as administration of blood and blood products, cardiac monitoring, infection control, and universal protocol time-out procedures
• Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris systems
• PACU and Pre-op skills preferred
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the contract, and all time off requests must be submitted upfront
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 6-month separation period
