Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) settings. The role includes responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in performing cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal care.
Collaborate with the surgical team, including two circulators per case, to facilitate efficient procedures.
Manage patient care activities and support the Charge RN in daily assignments.
Participate in weekend call and work rotation schedule.
Respond to call requirements with a response time of 30 minutes.
Complete floor-specific orientation, lasting one week or until comfortable.
Utilize Electronic Medical Records systems, specifically Cerner and Surginet, for documentation and patient tracking.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
Experience in CVOR or related surgical nursing is preferred.
Ability to scrub is beneficial, but not required.
Willingness to float to the Main OR as needed.

Work Environment

This position involves work in a CVOR unit with straightforward cases including CABG, AVR, MVR, and Thoracotomy.
Scrub colors will be provided for all staff members.
Holidays are part of the scheduling requirements.

Team Structure

The team consists of registered nurses and two circulators per case, ensuring optimal patient care during surgeries.
There is no dedicated OR tech position in the unit.
