Commissioning Manager (Data Center)

The Senior Commissioning Manager is part of our Project Management department and verifies that the designed, installed, and tested plant and equipment satisfy the environmental performance criteria specified and meet the client's operational needs through all operational seasons. This position will also be responsible for client satisfaction, project execution, and business development. This position will be seconded to a Data Center client in the Chicago Metro area, and an on-site presence will be expected daily.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Development of standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive Commissioning documentation.
• Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports.
• Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
• Interface with clients, contractors and equipment vendors as needed; Execute project. assignments; Interface with project contractors, vendors, and testing technicians; Interact with all facets of the company: engineering, design, etc.
• Verify results of test reports; Assist with field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed; Field experience in the operation and application of Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, Data loggers, and related system testing equipment.
• Lead a project team, either a large project or multiple projects or a whole program.
• Define technical scope of project.
• Promote opportunities for repeat business and create highly favorable references through the effective coordination, administration, and communication of project tasks.
• Review cost estimates.
• Manage project level conflict resolution.
• Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.
• Facilitate and maintain communications with the client in addition to providing monthly/weekly/daily reports.
• Achieve the client's objectives by successfully managing the client's project, goals, and objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Manage and monitor team members' activity in alignment with organizational goals.

• Provide feedback to senior leaders and clearly communicate organizational direction to team members.

• Create development opportunities and plan for direct reports and teams; provide ongoing feedback.
• Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.
• Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.
• Actively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5+ years of experience in the building commissioning process, start-up, facilities management, control systems, test and balance or MEP installation; experience in Energy Modeling & Auditing, measurement, and verification

The salary range for this full-time role is $49.18-$65.59 per hour. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
