Part-Time Testing Assistant

This is a part-time Career Service position with an hourly pay rate of $17.65.

Position Summary

The Part-Time Testing Assistant provides clerical and testing support to the campus Testing Coordinator in the operation of the Testing Office. This position assists with scheduling and checking in examinees, administering and proctoring examinations, responding to routine inquiries, maintaining testing records and materials, and performing other clerical duties necessary to support Testing Office operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Testing Administration

• Assist with administering and proctoring examinations offered through the Testing Office.
• Check in examinees, verify required information, and provide testing instructions.
• Prepare testing stations, equipment, and materials, including approved testing accommodations.
• Monitor testing sessions and maintain the security and integrity of examinations and testing materials.
• Process, secure, and maintain examination materials, testing records, and results.
• Maintain required certifications and complete training for assigned examinations.

Customer Service and Office Support

• Schedule testing appointments and respond to routine questions regarding testing services, procedures, and fees.
• Provide clerical and customer service support, including telephone and email assistance, data entry, filing, and general office duties.
• Operate College computer systems, testing platforms, and standard office equipment and report technical issues as needed.
• Maintain testing records, materials, files, and office supplies.

Testing Office Support

• Maintain the confidentiality and security of student records, testing information, and other sensitive materials.
• Support daily Testing Office operations and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous clerical, customer service, educational, or testing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
• Must maintain required certifications to proctor examinations offered through the Testing Center.
• Must successfully complete employment/reference verification and a background check.

Ergonomic Requirements

• Ability to sit and stand for periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, lift, walk, carry, and perform other physical movements necessary to complete assigned duties.
• Ability to occasionally work in enclosed or confined areas.
• Ability to work occasional evenings, extended hours, or other periods outside the regular work schedule as operational needs dictate.
