Customs Entry Specialist (H)

Position Overview The Customs Entry Specialist prepares and processes customs entries, reviews details, verifies compliance data and duty policies, and ensures submission of additional cargo information to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before cargo enters the U.S. Responsibilities Process customs clearance confirming all necessary data and documents are available. Investigate, resolve, and communicate operational or entry issues. Review fundamental components related to client requirements (accounting, credit, customs bond, audit instructions, billing). Work directly with Customs Border Patrol (CBP) and other government agencies. Review entry details and verify compliance. Enter all billing charges into system. Participate in ISO audits and documentation updates. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Required: 2+ years’ experience working in customs entry/processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel. Proficiency working in financial systems such as Cognos, SAP, etc. Thorough analytical skills. Proficiency in written and verbal communication. Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines. Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred: Familiarity working with Customs Border Patrol (CBP) or other government agencies (OGA). Experience using CargoWise (C1). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). High school diploma or GED equivalent. Work Environment & Physical Demands 100% performed in a climate‑controlled internal office environment. Travel may be required (up to __%). The role involves sitting, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, speaking, listening, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in a fluid, fast‑paced environment. Pay & Benefits Hourly pay range: $31.25–$34.61/hr (based on NY law). Dental, vision, and health insurance; 401(k); bonuses (depending on role).
