Future Opening: Experienced Dementia Caregiver - Assisted Living $14-15 hour About the Role We are seeking an emotionally steady, experienced caregiver to support a male veteran client living in an assisted living and memory care facility in Waco. This unique and challenging role requires confidence, compassion, and strong redirection skills. The client lives with advanced dementia, and care must be provided in a way that maintains safety, dignity, and respect for everyone involved. Ideal candidates will have direct experience working with individuals who may exhibit verbal outbursts, inappropriate comments, or confusion-based boundary challenges. Qualifications Caregivers with 2+ years of dementia-specific experience Confident working long 10–12 hour shifts (day or night) Skilled in redirection, emotional regulation, and de-escalation Comfortable with boundary challenges and verbal outbursts Calm, kind, and compassionate—especially under pressure Observes infection control, follows care plans, and documents tasks accurately Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Shift length: 5 to 12 hours Days: Weekday and weekend availability preferred Setting: On-site support for a male client with advanced dementia in a memory care unit Client status: Veteran; physically mobile but cognitively impaired Responsibilities Provide personal care, companionship, and safe supervision Redirect and de-escalate verbal or behavioral outbursts when necessary Maintain strong, respectful boundaries with the client at all times Support the client in routine activities and emotional regulation Maintain client safety and dignity Communicate clearly with staff, family, and care team Clock in/out and document care consistently Why Work With Us At One You Love Homecare Waco, our mission is to serve our clients and their families with Excellence, Integrity, Love, and Joy.
