DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports the daily operations of the agency by carrying out office, program, and administrative tasks that keep services running smoothly. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Administrative Studies: Conduct reviews of procedures and prepare summaries that support program development
  • Agency Coordination: Maintain communication with partnering government offices to support shared goals
  • Meeting Support: Manage schedules, notify participants, and record minutes for agency meetings
  • Office Reception: Provide front desk coverage by handling calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries
  • Record Management: Maintain organized files, track documents, and support electronic record keeping
  • Personnel Assistance: Process staff paperwork, help with interviews, and support payroll and leave tracking

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
