Description
- Conduct thorough assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, utilizing both standardized tests and observational techniques.
- Create customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver focused and personalized speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication skills, language acquisition, fluency, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team-including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members-to cultivate an integrated care approach.
- Foster patient and family education to reinforce progress during off-clinic hours.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the entire treatment process.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Keep abreast of field advancements by engaging in continuing education and professional collaboration.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of commencing employment.
- Expertise in evidence-supported treatment methodologies for individuals across all age groups, with solid knowledge of both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility in tailoring therapy techniques to cater to a diverse spectrum of cultural and language needs.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and adept in documentation practices.
