The Metro West Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health. \n
- Develop tailored treatment plans and intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on best practices and their unique needs. \n
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic techniques to foster emotional growth and resilience. \n
- Regularly monitor and document clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. \n
- Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to integrate care and share critical client information. \n
- Proactively follow up with clients and their healthcare providers to ensure a seamless transition of care, especially for those admitted to inpatient facilities. \n
- Assist clients’ family members in managing behavioral challenges, providing guidance and resources to help foster healthier dynamics. \n
Our clients encompass a wide range of demographics and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges. We focus on treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction. Your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is to create a safe, trusting environment where clients feel empowered to explore their feelings and work towards recovery.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California. \n
- Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to connect effectively with clients and colleagues. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a sympathetic approach to patient-centered care. \n

- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting. \n
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and track their progress accurately. \n
- Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). \n
- Experience working with clients who have co-occurring emotional and substance use disorders. \n
- An understanding of pharmacological treatments, including the effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists. \n
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience, accompanied by a sign-on bonus.
