• Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible emergency medicine physician

• Must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency

• ABEM only - ABIM and ABFM candidates cannot be considered due to facility bylaws

• Board eligible in ABEM is acceptable

• American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) certification is not accepted

• Current need is for night shift coverage only:

  • 6:00 PM-3:00 AM

  • 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• Candidates who can cover 5-7 consecutive days at a time are preferred

• Providers must remain flexible with shift coverage based on facility needs and their submitted availability

• If a provider prefers 10-hour shifts, this must be clearly indicated when presented

• Candidates must be submitted to both locations for consideration:

  • Deaconess Midtown Hospital - JO-00909

• Department shift structure includes:

  • 6:00 AM-3:00 PM

  • 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

  • 1:00 PM-10:00 PM

  • 3:00 PM-12:00 AM

  • 6:00 PM-3:00 AM

  • 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• Current locum need is limited to the 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM starting shifts

• Site 1 is a Level II Trauma Center

• Site 1 averages approximately 15-18 patients per physician per day

• Average volume: approximately 2 patients per hour

• Approximately 40 emergency department rooms at Site 1

• Annual ED volume: 45,000+

• Hospital has approximately 298 beds

• Staffing model at Site 1 typically includes 2-3 physicians during most hours with APP support available 24/7

• Hospitalists admit patients with specialists serving as consultants

• Broad subspecialty support available

• Transfers are generally limited to burns, complicated pediatric cases, and some hand cases

• Both campuses have OB coverage

• Site 2 is connected to The Women's Hospital; Site 1 has OB available on call

• Stroke and STEMI coverage available 24/7/365 at both campuses

• Deaconess Gateway is a Comprehensive Stroke Center

• Candidates with a clear background and no malpractice history are preferred
