A premier, world-class medical center and research institution in San Francisco, California, is seeking a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join its leading department of Radiation Oncology. This facility is recognized internationally for pioneering research, technological innovation, and compassionate, individualized patient care.

Role Overview

Under direct supervision, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for performing various radiotherapy and hyperthermia treatment procedures at a high technical level. This role requires setting up patients for treatment, following through on specific treatment plans, documenting treatment performed, and collaborating with department staff for maximum operational efficiency. As part of a multi-campus network, staff may be assigned to work at other local campuses following union scheduling guidelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Set up patients for treatment according to precise clinical specifications.
• Execute and follow through on specific individualized radiation treatment plans.
• Document all treatments performed accurately in patient records.
• Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure maximum efficiency of clinical services.
• Comply with established Medical Center Environmental Safety Policies, HIPAA Standards, Joint Commission guidelines, House and Telephone Standards (AIDET), and department Quality Improvement (QI) projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Therapeutic Radiology.
• Licensure by the state of California in Therapeutic Radiology.
• Experience with the use of Megavoltage, supervoltage, and orthovoltage machines.
• Ability to act independently and exercise appropriate independent judgment regarding patient set-up or treatment decisions.
• Knowledge of simulation procedures, Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), radioactive implants, High-Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and hyperthermia procedures.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of people.
• A strong, positive attitude toward teamwork and collaborative patient care.

Candidate Profile & Experience

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Seniority Level: Associate.
• Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (alongside mandatory accredited Radiation Therapy program completion).
• Key Attributes: Strong team player, adaptable problem-solver, independent thinker, and highly collaborative.
• Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally between regional facility campuses as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $170,234 to $212,099 USD annually (dependent on experience).
• Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for new hires.
• Relocation: Full relocation assistance available for ideal candidates.
