Fort Sam Houston, Texas, United States About this position Physician Assistant (PA-C) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) – URGENT HIRE Specialties: Surgery, Oncology, Wound Care, & Colorectal Surgery Location: San Antonio, TX 78234 (In-Person) Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an immediate opening within our surgical and oncology departments. This is a full-time contract position providing critical outpatient care. You will work in a high-demand environment, performing clinical assessments, diagnostics, and surgical support within a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications & Requirements To be considered for this urgent opening, candidates must meet the following criteria: Education & Certification Graduate of an accredited Master’s program (PA or NP). Board Certified (NCCPA for PAs; ANCC or AANP for NPs). Current BLS and ALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA). Foreign Medical Graduates: Must possess a valid ECFMG certificate. Licensure Active & Unrestricted Medical License in any U.S. State, DC, or Territory. Current DEA Registration (must correspond with the medical license). Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 2 years as a PA or NP. At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting is required. Preferred: Prior experience in government healthcare facilities or public health. Clinical Skills Expertise in clinical assessment, diagnostics, and wound care. Proficiency with EHR systems (Electronic Health Records). Strong independent decision-making skills and team-oriented mindset. Work Environment & Schedule Setting: Outpatient Surgical/Oncology clinic. Hours: Monday – Friday, between 0600 and 1800 (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Standard Shift: 8-hour shifts, averaging 40 hours per week. Physical Demands: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and assist with patient lifting as required for care.
