Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

- Deliver direct nursing care to PCU patients with complex, evolving, and acute medical/surgical conditions.
- Interpret and continuously monitor telemetry, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, pain management, and blood products.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and recovery.
- Education: Associate's Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license to practice in the state of Virginia (or compact state).
- Experience: Minimum of 18 months of RN med/surg or acute care experience (New grads may qualify for Sentara's Nurse Residency programs).
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required. NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
