Responsibilities Apply nursing knowledge based on biological, physical, and psycho‑social sciences to deliver and support patient care Perform and delegate nursing care, coordinating care plans for patients, families, and community members Use evidence‑based practice and nursing theory to maintain and restore optimal health for patients Manage resources and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high‑quality care Qualifications Full range of body motion with ability to handle and lift patients, along with manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Corrected vision and hearing within normal range Comfortable working under stressful conditions and irregular hours Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other hazardous conditions common in clinical environments Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; new RNs in critical care, telemetry, PACU, and ED must complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within the first six months and maintain certification Ability to effectively interact with diverse patient populations, respecting their dignity and self‑respect Physical Demands Heavy: May require exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally or 25–50 pounds of force frequently, and 10–20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
