Mold Repair Specialist

Job Description JOB OVERVIEW: Under the direction of the mold shop supervisor, the mold repair specialist C4, maintains injection molds in production ready and safe condition by administering the tooling preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting mold issues & making repairs, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES, including but not limited to: Performs all tasks necessary to operate tool room equipment according to procedure. Maintains injection molds in production ready and safe condition. Troubleshoots and repairs injection molds as needed. Participates in cross-functional process improvement teams. Actively participates in daily team production meetings - communicates key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement. Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions. Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately or appropriate personnel need to be called. Performs preventative maintenance tasks. Maintains 5S environment in work area. Administers tooling preventative maintenance program. Participates in tooling optimization and cost control/reduction activities. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement. Perform other duties as required with minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS: Possesses high school diploma/GED. Must hold a journeyman's card or have relevant combination of education and experience. Demonstrates ability to operate a vertical mill, lathe and surface grinder. Demonstrates ability to use micrometers and other measuring equipment Demonstrates ability to assemble/disassemble injection molds. Demonstrates ability to repair hot runner systems. Demonstrates organization skills and is very detail oriented. Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment. Maintains positive team environment. Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing and lifting. Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Computer experience preferred Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-task environment. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
