Product Owner

Product Owner The client is seeking a Product Owner to help lead a new Scrum team for a manned spaceflight program in Centennial, CO. Key Duties: Serve on one or more scrum teams as the Product Owner and Subject Matter Expert. Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project. Create and/or gather requirements and ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of well-defined work items. Prioritize product feature backlog based on mission priorities. Define product vision, roadmap, and product improvement opportunities. Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and features to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value. Provide backlog management, drive iteration planning, and provide elaboration of the user stories. Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to mission value. Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities. Provide an active role in mitigating requirements-related impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals. Research and analyze the market, the users, and the roadmap for the product. Interface with external and internal stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment and problem resolution. Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends. Work with the scrum master to identify opportunities for system and process improvements. Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements. 2 or more years of experience as a Product Owner. In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles. Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills. Creative thinker with a vision. Strong attention to detail. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline, or 6 or more years of related experience in lieu of education. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: Experience with formal software requirements. Experience working with NASA systems, particularly manned spaceflight. Experience working in the aerospace industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write requirements. Strength in working in a team environment.
