Certified Central Sterile Service Technician II

Sentara is hiring a Certified Central Sterile Service Technician II at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift: Full Time 11 am-7pm position, Monday through Friday.

Job Description

The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.

Education

• HSD/GED REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Certification - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) REQUIRED*****

Experience

• 1 year CSS, sterilization, and/or central sterile processing experience REQUIRED*****

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
