Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Position Summary

The Shift Lead at PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans plays a key role in daily café operations, ensuring smooth workflow, exceptional guest service, and consistent product quality. This position supports management by guiding baristas, maintaining store standards, and upholding PJ’s brand values throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service

• Deliver warm, friendly, and efficient service that reflects PJ’s hospitality standards.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming café environment throughout the shift.

Operational Leadership

• Lead the team during assigned shifts, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee opening or closing procedures, including cash handling, deposits, and store security.
• Monitor product quality, drink consistency, and adherence to PJ’s recipes and standards.
• Maintain inventory levels during shifts; communicate low stock or issues to management.

Team Support & Training

• Provide guidance, coaching, and real-time feedback to baristas.
• Assist with training new team members on service standards, drink preparation, and café procedures.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.

Safety & Cleanliness

• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Monitor equipment functionality and report issues promptly.
• Maintain organized workstations and uphold daily cleaning routines.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or retail preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable handling cash, resolving customer concerns, and making decisions independently.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions required for drink preparation and cleaning.
