Salary Range: $315,000.00 - $350,000.00

Our organization is in search of a physician or an experienced laboratory leader to take on the role of Medical Director for the Genetic Testing Laboratories within the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics. This is a remarkable chance to become part of a well-established and rapidly expanding academic laboratory, contributing to its next phase of growth in clinical diagnostics and genomics.

The laboratory operates within the School of Medicine and provides support to patients throughout the health system and across the state. With a rising demand for genetic testing and robust collaboration among clinical and research teams, this program offers a vibrant and supportive atmosphere with significant opportunities for making an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with current leadership to steer the operations, strategy, and overall vision of the laboratory.
• Support the development and expansion of tests.
• Work closely with clinical and health system partners.
• Assist in navigating processes related to billing, approvals, and the implementation of new services.
• Shape the role to align with your strengths, whether in operational leadership, clinical expertise, or strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible MD, MD/PhD, or PhD.
• Experience in molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and/or clinical laboratory leadership.
• A collaborative and adaptable mindset, comfortable in a complex academic and health system environment.
• A genuine interest in fostering program growth and evolution.
