This healthcare system operates a comprehensive cardiovascular program across three facilities, providing advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical services to the East Texas region. The facilities feature modern surgical suites with typical hospital resources and support staff, ensuring optimal patient care and provider support. Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - Cardiovascular Job Details:
• Provide 24-hour cardiovascular surgical call coverage across three facilities
• Handle primarily inpatient surgical coverage for ED and elective cases
• Perform full scope cardiovascular surgery including both thoracic and cardiac procedures
• Manage 10-15 patients per day with typical hospital resources and support staff
• Program performs approximately 100 heart surgeries annually
• Must be able to harvest own veins (PA may be provided depending on volume)
• Work 7am-7am shift schedule with ongoing availability
• Utilize Paragon CHS Proprietary EMR in hospital setting and Cerner McKesson Cardiology in clinic
• Average callback hours: weekday 5.36 hours, weekend 4.7 hours
• Must maintain active Texas license or IMLC with active LOQ
• Board certification highly preferred with cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery fellowship required
• BLS and ACLS highly preferred (can be obtained through on-site training)
• Clean malpractice history required (settled cases considered case by case)
• Self-Query NPDB report mandatory within 30 days of presentation
• Temporary privileges available for qualified candidates with clean malpractice history Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
