Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Ortho/Med-Surg inpatient unit requiring Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Details
- Inpatient Ortho and Med-Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
- 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Float to similar units as needed
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with wound care, wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
- Experience with ortho traction and surgical traction device setup and manipulation
Additional Information
- Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients each shift and develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
- Coordinate with physicians and surgeons on patient care plans
- Delegate and monitor interventions performed by healthcare care team staff
- Document nursing care accurately and maintain patient and employee safety standards
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without a 6-month break in service
