Hemphill’s Rugs Carpets & Hardwood is looking for an experienced, motivated Sales Specialist to join our Costa Mesa showroom.

For more than 30 years, Hemphill’s has served Orange County homeowners, interior designers, architects, builders, and the design trade with an exceptional selection of luxury area rugs, carpet, hardwood, and specialty flooring.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with clients and designers, has a strong eye for design, and is motivated to build relationships, manage and grow our existing clientele of homeowners, designers, and contractors, while actively developing new business.

What You’ll Do

• Assist homeowners, interior designers, architects, and trade professionals with flooring selections
• Sell premium area rugs, carpet, hardwood, and specialty flooring
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and members of the design trade
• Develop new business through follow-up, networking, referrals, and outreach
• Prepare quotes and guide customers through the sales process from selection through installation
• Work closely with our operations team, vendors, and installers to provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain knowledge of products, materials, design trends, and our extensive vendor collections

Who We’re Looking For

We would especially like to meet candidates with experience in flooring, carpet, area rugs, hardwood, interior design, furniture, luxury home furnishings, or other high-end consultative sales environments .

The ideal candidate is:

• Professional, personable, and confident working with discerning clients
• Sales-driven and motivated to develop new business
• Comfortable building relationships with interior designers and trade professionals
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and clients
• Design-oriented with an appreciation for quality materials and beautiful interiors
• Experienced in consultative or relationship-based sales
• Comfortable working independently while also being part of a small team

Position Details

This is a full-time, showroom-based position at our Costa Mesa location. Compensation is structured as a draw plus commission , providing strong earning potential for a motivated salesperson who builds and maintains an active client base.

Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Schedule: Full-time, showroom-based
Showroom Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM
Compensation: Draw + commission with strong earning potential
