$100,000–$150,000 Base Salary + Incentive Compensation

Are you an experienced Assistant State's Attorney, Public Defender, or Criminal Defense Attorney interested in taking your courtroom experience into private practice?

Growth Solutions Team has been retained by an established Maryland criminal defense law firm seeking attorneys with strong criminal litigation and trial experience. We are particularly interested in speaking with prosecutors and public defenders who have developed solid courtroom skills and are considering a transition into private practice.

This is an opportunity to build on your criminal law experience, represent clients directly, and continue developing your career in an established criminal defense practice.

Who We Would Like to Meet

We are particularly interested in attorneys who currently work, or previously worked, as:

• Assistant State's Attorneys or other criminal prosecutors
• Assistant Public Defenders
• Criminal Defense Attorneys in private practice
• Former prosecutors or public defenders who have transitioned into private practice

Qualifications

• Active Maryland law license in good standing
• At least 3 years of criminal law experience, preferably including substantial courtroom responsibility
• Experience handling criminal cases, hearings, motions, plea negotiations, and trials
• Bench trial experience required; jury trial experience strongly preferred
• Strong courtroom advocacy, negotiation, legal research, and writing skills
• Ability to independently manage a criminal caseload and communicate effectively with clients
• Sound professional judgment and strong case management skills

Prior private practice experience is not required. Attorneys with substantial prosecution or public defense experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates do not need experience handling every type of criminal matter. We are interested in attorneys with a strong criminal law foundation and the ability to apply their experience in a private practice environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $95,000–$150,000, depending on experience
• Additional incentive compensation
