Student Employee (Non-Workstudy)

The Student Employee (Non-Workstudy) position within the Office of Advancement offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the university's mission by supporting fundraising, alumni relations, and community engagement initiatives. This role is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in administrative and communication tasks that directly impact the success of advancement efforts. The student will assist in managing data, creating videos, and maintaining relationships with donors and alumni. Through this position, the student will develop professional skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to meaningful projects that support the institution's growth and reputation. Ultimately, the role aims to foster a collaborative spirit and provide valuable exposure to the operations of a higher education advancement office.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a student at Gardner-Webb University.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
• Reliable and able to commit to a consistent work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with data entry and management of donor and alumni databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Conduct phone calls to check in with alumni and donors.
• Create videos to show appreciation and ask for support.
• Provide administrative support such as filing, preparing mailers, and responding to supervisor requests.
• Collaborate with team members to research and update contact information and assist in prospect identification.

This is an in-person position. Daily hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and students are required to commit to two nights a week.
